Crucially a clear terms of reference needs to be established. This is a very important part of the process in that it sets out what any investigation will entail and its scope. Sounds like common sense doesn't it? But so many times we have become involved when schools have carried out or paid for investigations when this was not done. Without it the process becomes unfocussed straying into other often time consuming issues. This can lead to investigations growing and as a consequence costing schools so much more.
As a service we will agree with schools who needs to be spoken to and the key players that need to be involved. Taking into account the availability of those involved and the impact that discussing matters may have on them too.
We will read all documentation you have in relation to the case. We have years of experience in similar cases so are familiar with the relevant laws and guidance and what is needed to be able to carry out an effective investigation.
We are truly independent as we do not work for the local authority or any educational organisation. Our investigations are conducted fairly and sensitively with those impacted parties. Leading to clear and reasonable recommendations.
If as a school, college or early years setting you are unsure if you need an investigation we offer a free consultation to talk through your options. As an investigation service we are honest with our commissioners as to costs and time investigations take.
